“????? My experience with Scott Dakin has been very positive. He is relatable, approachable, and insightful, creating a structured yet flexible environment that makes it easier to open up. Each session typically follows a plan for the first half, but he always checks in to see if there’s something else I’d rather focus on, making the process feel collaborative. After a few sessions, he has already provided effective coping techniques that have been genuinely helpful. He is a great listener and consistently offers thoughtful feedback. While I am still in the process of fully opening up, I already feel that working with him has been beneficial, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for structured yet adaptable therapy.”

Getting to know Scott Dakin

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or the effects of trauma? I can help! I have over 20 years of experience providing stellar results for my clients. I also offer couples and family therapy. Additionally, I am skilled in working with neurodiverse individuals. I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have many years of lived experience to draw from as a therapist. My counseling style is calm, grounded and fully present for each client. I also use a strengths based approach. Clients come to me for help with what's problematic or challenging. I also pay attention to skills and strengths that clients bring to therapy and build upon those. I draw upon a range of modalities. I am client centered, where I carefully listen to what you need and partner with you in providing therapy that is most effective for YOU.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When working with you, the first session will be a careful assessment of your symptoms and determining what is not working in your life and begin to discuss a path towards change. The first session is also a time for you to determine if my counseling style is a good match for you. From there we start to discuss goals and develop a treatment plan. These can be added to or otherwise changed based upon your progress in therapy. From there, as trust is built and you share your thoughts and feelings, I remain fully present, non judgmental, and help guide you on your journey of healing and change. I'm looking forward to meeting you! I will answer all inquiries by the following business day. Warm regards, Scott Dakin, LICSW
