Getting to know Dr. Scott Dollinger

Hi, I'm Scott Dollinger, a Psychologist and Neuropsychologist with over 40 years of experience. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I help my clients with their mood, relationships, cognitive abilities, ADHD, and recovering from all types of trauma. I have expertise in ADHD, chronic illness, and compassion fatigue. What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is Biopsychosocial. Establishing goals for treatment is collaborative. Selecting interventions for treatment is highly individualized. I look at each person's unique neurological and medical condition, their personal history, past and current relationships and select the best evidence-based method to help them achieve their goals. I have a compassionate, candid, and open therapeutic style. I encourage clients to ask questions and raise their concerns about any part of treatment including what I might be thinking or feeling. I think self-development is a life-long process and it is a privilege to be a part of my client's journey. I look forward to starting this journey with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The methods I use to help my clients follow three fundamental processes: 1) identify current challenges to functioning; 2) select and teach specific neurologically-based methods to self-regulate emotions and heal the brain; 3) apply the methods toward the client's desired goals. Most client's experience significant relief after 4-5 sessions and ongoing improvement thereafter.
