Dr. Scotty Enyart, PhD

Psychotherapist
CA
As a PhD in International Psychology, I’ve worked with clients in over 50 countries, exploring how culture shapes the mind. My global perspective helps clients see themselves more clearly, navigate relationships with insight, and find meaning across life’s transitions. My approach is depth oriented, getting to the root of the dynamic to help reclaim oneself and move forward with a healthier navigational system. You may be navigating anxiety, depression, a major life transition, a profound shift in worldview, or simply feeling the weight of an uncertain, rapidly changing world. You might feel disconnected, questioning where you belong, or struggling to find meaning in systems that no longer feel supportive. I specialize in working with individuals, and couples who are feeling the quiet ache of disconnection, depression, or existential fear, helping you root back into your authenticity and rebuild a sense of purpose and belonging. My style is warm, thoughtful, and practical. I integrate researched based, evidence-based approaches with deep respect for each person's unique story and inner wisdom. I believe honesty and feeling safe are the most important things in therapy. I will also bring honesty and if something doesn't feel congruent I will point this out in our therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and hold a Ph.D. in International Psychology, with over 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I integrate evidence-based and insight-oriented approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, existential psychology, and emotional processing techniques. Together, we will explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen your emotional resilience, and help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself. I work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, trauma, addiction, and questions related to meaning, identity, and personal growth. I also have extensive experience working with expatriates, global citizens, military populations, and individuals navigating significant cultural transitions. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences honestly, cultivate self-awareness, and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

1. Initial Consultation We begin with an initial session where we discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, relevant personal history, and any questions you may have about the process. This is also an opportunity for us to determine whether we are a good fit to work together. 2. Assessment and Goal Setting During the first few sessions, we will explore patterns, challenges, strengths, and areas of growth. Together, we will identify goals that are meaningful and realistic for your life. 3. Ongoing Therapy Sessions Most clients meet weekly, though frequency can be adjusted based on individual needs. Sessions provide a space to explore emotions, relationships, life transitions, behavioral patterns, and deeper questions about identity, purpose, and well-being. 4. Building Insight and Creating Change Using approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and emotional processing techniques, we work to increase self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, improve relationships, and create lasting change. 5. Integration and Growth As therapy progresses, we focus on helping you apply insights and skills in your daily life. The goal is not simply symptom reduction, but greater self-understanding, emotional freedom, resilience, and a stronger connection to the life you want to live. 6. Transition or Completion Therapy may be short-term and focused on a specific issue, or longer-term depending on your goals. When the time is right, we will review your progress, identify tools for continued growth, and thoughtfully conclude our work together.
