What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to uphold cultural humility each day. Specifically, respecting all individuals and their values, beliefs, and opinions. A person’s background and culture may highlight the wonderful qualities about them, which deserve to be recognized and respected. I also aspire to continue dismantling the stigma of mental health treatment each day. I believe that the need to talk and process life with another person should not be stigmatized. Therefore, each day I work to promote a non-judgmental, friendly, accepting, and safe space for people. My primary focus involves the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and financial impact that trauma may influence. Trauma work, in my opinion, should be specialized to fit the needs of each person individually. From this, I offer a variety of clinical modalities to assist with trauma work, which include Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), Acceptance & Commitment therapy (ACT), and more. In my opinion, every person deserves the opportunity to discover, reconnect, and heal all parts of themselves. What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with clients who may be struggling with trauma-related difficulties. As therapy may require vulnerability, I understand that trust must be earned and may not be automatically given. From that, I strive to gain the client's confidence in each session and to gain the privilege of getting to know each person on a deeper level.
