Sean O'hara, LCSW

Psychotherapist
ME
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with over 7 years of experience working in the Mental Health field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, life transitions, and family/relationship issues. I graduated from Fordham University in 2017 with an MSW and have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities. My approach I am a solution-focused therapist with a person-centered approach. I strongly believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and identifying those things which motivate you as an individual in a judgment-free space. While I have specialty training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), CT-R (Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, my approach is always tailored to your needs in a way we both see fit to meet your goals. My focus If you’ve been feeling weighed down by worry, anxiety, disconnection, or the sense that you’re carrying more than you can handle, you’re not alone. I work with adults who long for deeper connection, steadier confidence, and freedom from past hurts. Together, we’ll move at your pace, creating a safe, compassionate space where you can heal, grow, and feel truly supported along the way. My communication style From the moment we begin our work together, my goal is for you to feel comfortable and truly heard. I communicate with openness and curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and encouraging you to explore your feelings at your own pace. When we work through tough topics, I’ll provide supportive guidance and practical insights so you feel safe, understood, and ready to make positive changes in your life. My journey to mental healthcare I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s stories—their struggles, their strengths, and what makes them who they are.
