Getting to know Sean Smith
As your psychotherapist, I use an eclectic approach that integrates the mind, body, spirit, and external world. Whatever your reasons for seeking therapy, we’ll approach them with non-judgment, love, and an expansive mindset. Often, we mistake symptoms or challenges as something bad or something to fight, when they’re actually trying to help us—calling our attention to lessons and corrections that ultimately lead to greater self-actualization and self-expression. Be not afraid; we’ll go at your pace and follow where you want to go. Your truth will be our guide. By taking the step to seek assistance, the power is already back in your hands. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from New York University, which informs my compassionate and holistic approach to therapy.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with additional training and interest in ADHD, Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Polyvagal. Professionally, I have worked in outpatient mental health and in hospitals doing medical social work. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from New York University in 2020. In my free time I enjoy music and surfing.

I arrived with a lot of confusion of strife surrounding my daily life and overall trajectory. Sean offered not only his advice, but his ability to listen as well, which I would say is one of his best strengths. Our conversations felt very personable and flowed easily as he helped me ask myself new questions and opened my eyes towards new perspectives. My visit with Sean brought me a lot of peace and trust in my own self, which was exactly what I was looking for. If you need someone to help you large or small, I know Sean will find anyway to aid you in any journey, truly a miracle worker!

Upon intake, I knew it was safe to open up. Sean, displays a empathetic tone with genuine understanding, which makes you feel comfortable to spill the beans about yourself. Therapy is hard and it's a great feeling to be able to find someone who provides a caring, professional, setting with no judgment.
