Getting to know Selene Escalante

I believe that every individual has their own story to tell. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and immigrant communities who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship and attachment issues, low self-esteem, self-worth and trauma. Within the therapeutic relationship, my clients will experience a safe, empathetic and a non-judgemental environment that will be tailored to their needs. I provide culturally competent, sensitive and appropriate care for all ages and backgrounds. I offer patience and trust as we embark on this journey together. In regards to working with children and adolescents, we will uncover different and healthy ways to approach new experiences and will be given a safe space where effective evolution and self-discovery is possible. Progression is not linear and I meet my clients where they are. It is important for every human to have an area in their life where they feel safe, heard and seen regardless of the circumstances or age. As a Mexican-American woman, I wanted to break the barriers found in most marginalized communities. I believe that every individual should be granted the opportunity to work towards their true and authentic self.
