What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients often find that I balance structure with warmth. I will take time to truly hear your concerns and help you sort through them with clarity. While therapy can be challenging at times, I aim to make the process approachable and encouraging—never overwhelming. You’ll notice that I adjust my style depending on your needs: sometimes that means practical tools and coping strategies, and other times it means deeper reflection and insight. If spirituality or faith is meaningful to you, I can bring that into our work as well.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I’ll gather a full picture of your history, strengths, and challenges. From there, we’ll outline a plan tailored to your goals—whether it’s learning new coping skills, improving relationships, managing mood, or finding stability through a difficult life transition. Follow-ups focus on building momentum: celebrating progress, adjusting when things don’t work, and introducing new strategies as needed. I utilize CBT as a primary therapeutic model; however, I also draw from DBT for practical skills, ACT for resilience, and psychodynamic work when we need to look at patterns beneath the surface. Families and couples may also be involved if it supports your healing process.
