My name is Sephiratu (Sephi) Wahab. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State. I graduated in 2010 with Master’s in Social Work and later proceeded to obtain my PhD in psychology in 2020. I have practiced clinical social work in various settings including psychiatric hospital, residential treatment facilities, and outpatient clinic. Also, I adjunct when I am not doing clinical work. I work with adults, young adults, parents, and families. My treatment approach and types of therapy is more or less eclectic meaning I use a combination of different modalities depending on the various factors including but not limited to the issue at hand, individual client's needs, wants, goals and desires, assessment driven to ensure that clients are benefiting from their treatment. My treatment modalities including psychodynamic approach, acceptance and commitment (ACT), DBT informed technique, teaching effective coping strategies, attachment-based, cognitive behavioral (CBT), Inference base cognitive behavior therapy, compassion-focused,Exposure response prevention, strength base, emotionally focused, humanistic, family systems, and trauma-focused therapies.
