Getting to know Serena Garnett
*IMPORTANT NOTICE*: At Healing Connections Counseling Center, goodness of fit is of the upmost importance. Therefore, when booking through ZocDoc, please be aware that your first booking will be a 15 minute phone consultation with our Clinical Care Director, Emily Conte, LPC, who will do a 10-15 minute brief intake phone call to gather your general demographic and insurance information, availability, and reason(s) for seeking treatment. Emily will then verify your insurance and provide you with your coverage information so you know what your financial responsibility will be per session. She will also assure that the clinician you requested is the best fit for your stated needs. We value your time and understand what a vulnerable process therapy can to begin. It is with your care in mind that we follow what has been a very successful intake and therapist assignment process.

I believe that life is like a book, composed of chapters waiting to be written. My goal is to help you navigate and resolve emotionally fraught, unresolved chapters in your life, so that you may turn the page and begin writing the new story of your life that you've only dreamed of.
With a background in individual counseling with young adults and a focus on relational dynamics, I bring a wealth of experience and understanding of today's complex lives and families to our sessions. My journey as a therapist has led me through various roles, including counseling at Pennsylvania State University's Counseling Services and teaching courses in Women's Psychology and Child-Adolescent Psychology at Caldwell University.

Healing Connections Counseling Center is in-network with BCBS and Aetna insurance plans, with the exception of any Medicare, Medicaid, EAP, Marketplace, or Carelon related plans. If you have another insurance carrier and your plan has out-of-network coverage, the office will provide you with a super bill to submit directly to your insurance plan. Since we would be considered an out of network provider with any other insurance carriers besides BCBS and Aetna, the client would be responsible for the full fee of the session, which is $150 for a 60-minute session or $125 for a 45-minute session with Serena Garnett. The client would submit a super bill to their insurance and receive reimbursement (if applicable to their plan) directly from their insurance company. If you need assistance with submitting out of network super bills, we can have a member of our billing department walk you through the process.
