Do you feel like you’re constantly "on," yet stuck in place? For many people, anxiety and trauma don’t always look like fear—they show up as irritability, a short fuse, restlessness, or feeling disconnected from the people who matter most. You’ve spent a long time trying to "power through," but you’re tired of just surviving. I’m Seth Erickson and I specialize in helping my clients translate that internal overwhelm into understanding and action. I don't just "talk in circles"—I provide a practical, grounded space to dismantle old hurts and build a stronger, more resilient version of yourself. Drawing on over a decade of experience and advanced fellowship training at the SIU School of Medicine, I use evidence-based methods like trauma-informed CBT to help you regain control. My approach is direct and collaborative: we identify the patterns holding you back and set clear goals to get you moving forward.

Getting to know Seth Erickson

What should a new client know about working with you?

I understand that for many, starting therapy feels like a hurdle. My goal is to make the process as straightforward and high-value as possible. You won't find a "clinical" or judgmental atmosphere here; instead, we focus on a collaborative, "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach to the challenges you're facing. What to expect: Practical Tools: We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused strategies. You’ll leave sessions with actual insight you can apply to your life immediately. Your Pace: While I’m here to help you gain ground, we work at a speed that respects your comfort level. Whether you're feeling on edge, burnt out, or disconnected, our work is about getting you back to a place of steady, grounded control. You don't need to have everything figured out before our first call—that’s what we’re here to do together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Starting therapy with me is designed to be simple and effective. Here is how we get to work: Step 1: The Foundation Once you book, you’ll complete a brief set of digital forms. No paperwork drills—just the essential info I need to understand your history and goals so we can hit the ground running in our first session. Step 2: The Strategy Session Our first meeting is about clarity. We’ll identify the specific "hang-ups" from anxiety or trauma that are stalling your progress. We don’t just talk about the problem; we start outlining the strategy to fix it. Step 3: Consistent Gains We meet weekly or bi-weekly via a secure video platform. These sessions are active and collaborative. We use CBT and trauma-informed tools to challenge the thoughts holding you back and build the resilience you need to lead your life with confidence. Step 4: Real-World Application The goal is for you to eventually not need me. We constantly check in on your progress to ensure you’re gaining the tools and steady mindset required to handle life's challenges on your own.
