I have over 20 years of experience in the psychology field and specialize in working with adults, couples, and families. I practice research-based clinical therapies that are most effective and aimed at providing the best outcomes. With a focus on attaining your goals, I work collaboratively with you by establishing trust to achieve optimum learning and growth. My individualized treatment approach is based on your goals and customized to suit your needs and objectives. I hold a PhD in Social Work from the University of Central Florida and a Master's in Social Work from the University of South Florida, where I also earned a Certificate in Addiction Counseling. I have a broad range of training and experience in different counseling approaches, including American Psychiatric Association and World Health Organization–approved treatment modalities like EMDR (for PTSD and other trauma-related disorders), CBT, DBT, psychoanalytic approaches, and other traditional treatment methods for mood disorders and addiction. My counseling practice embraces change, focusing on a more fulfilling life and coping with one's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work with clients individually to understand their issues and apply evidence-based treatment methods to meet their needs. In couples and family therapy, my therapeutic approach focuses on increasing understanding and empathy, helping couples validate one another, and strengthening their communication.
