Dr. Shaleise Collier, PhD

Psychotherapist
1849 Sawtelle Blvd, Ste 610, Los Angeles, CA
I specialize in evidence-based treatments for children, teens, and adults with ADHD, anxiety, OCD, and mood disorders. I have a particular passion for helping patients move toward self-discovery, gaining insight into their challenges while developing practical tools for meaningful change. In addition to conducting ADHD evaluations across the lifespan, I work closely with parents and families to navigate the occasional rollercoaster of raising a child with ADHD, especially when emotional regulation difficulties and disruptive behaviors are part of the mix. I strive to deliver therapy that is structured enough to create lasting change, yet flexible enough to meet each patient exactly where they are. I aim to use a non-judgmental and collaborative approach to reminds patients that therapy isn’t about being “perfect”- it’s about practicing new skills, stumbling forward and learning to celebrate the small wins. My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices but never feels like a ‘one-size-fits-all.’ I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused strategies, and practical problem-solving to help patients build sustainable skills that stick. My formal training at UCLA’s OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorder Clinic afforded me extensive experience in diagnosing and treating anxiety and OCD, including specialized expertise in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) - the gold standard for OCD treatment. Furthermore, I provide Behavioral Parent Training (BPT) for parents of children with ADHD, offering research-backed strategies that turn daily battles into healthier, more cooperative family dynamics. I also use Motivational Interviewing to spark motivation and build momentum in teens and adults facing procrastination, executive dysfunction or burnout. My philosophy is simple: insight is important, but action is what transforms daily life.

More information on payments and coverage

We are in-network with ComPsych and out-of-network and private pay with other insurances. Our fee varies by provider. I charge $300 for a 50 minute session and I have multiple supervised providers working with me: Dr. Ana Hauser who charges $250/session. I also have two excellent Psychology Externs (Tiffany Tao and David Cenkner) who charges $125/session but are able to side as low as $40 pending financial need and availability within the clinic. We provide Superbills to help patients with reimbursement from their insurance. Most PPO insurances reimburse 40-80% of the fee, however, this varies by insurance, and we encourage individuals to confirm with their providers. Please check with your insurance company to inquire into possible out-of-network benefits and rates for reimbursement. COPE providers can provide a monthly statement documenting services received that can be used for possible reimbursement from your insurance company and/or healthcare spending accounts. Some questions that may be helpful to ask your insurance company: Do I have mental health benefits? Do I have out-of-network benefits? If so, what are the benefits? How would I obtain reimbursement for an out-of-network provider? How many sessions will be covered per calendar year? What is my deductible and has it been met?
