Hi there! My name is Shana Greenwich, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to providing compassionate, exceptional care to my clients. I approach each person with curiosity and understanding. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern Illinois University. My approach to therapy is eclectic and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I am a certified EMDR therapist with extensive training in crisis intervention and suicidality. I also specialize in trauma-focused care and cognitive behavioral therapy. I have experience working with adolescents and adults, primarily from marginalized populations. My specialties include trauma, with a focus on crisis, PTSD, women’s health, and LGBTQIA+ issues. I work hard to create a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe and validated. I continuously check my personal biases and strive to be transparent, helping clients feel comfortable throughout the process. After the first session, I typically discuss therapy goals with my clients, exploring both long-term and short-term objectives. My aim is to help clients develop realistic and achievable goals. During our first session, I gather important information about your childhood, family history, symptoms, and social history. I also conduct screenings for significant disorders, including suicidal ideation, AODA, PTSD, and mood disorders.
