Getting to know Shane Brune

Counseling is a collaborative process with the client knowing themselves and having a safe space to explore their challenges, strengths, and desires. My primary aim is to help alleviate bothersome symptoms and help the client reach their personalized goals. I largely use cognitive-behavioral interventions which are evidence-based and applicable to many different situations. I believe everyone can make progress and each journey is unique. I am honored to help others achieve their best self. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University, a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University, and am currently working on my dissertation for a Doctor of Public Health degree at Texas A&M. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, and have worked in the mental health field for 22 years, leading large teams of mental health professionals. Most of my clinical experience has been with at-risk youth and community mental health. I have experience with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, addiction, and psychotic disorders.
