At Stella Mental Health, I specialize in helping adults break out of patterns shaped by trauma, relationships, and past experiences—especially when those patterns show up as anxiety, depression, or challenges in relationships. Many of my clients are navigating family conflict, divorce, co-parenting, codependency, or the effects of emotional or psychological abuse. My approach is grounded in narrative therapy, helping you understand the story that’s been shaping your life and begin creating one that feels more aligned with who you are now.

Getting to know Shannon Busse

At Stella Mental Health, I specialize in helping adults break out of patterns shaped by trauma, relationships, and past experiences—especially when those patterns show up as anxiety, depression, or challenges in relationships. Many of my clients are navigating family conflict, divorce, co-parenting, codependency, or the effects of emotional or psychological abuse. My approach is grounded in narrative therapy, helping you understand the story that’s been shaping your life and begin creating one that feels more aligned with who you are now.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I create a space that’s both deeply empathetic and thoughtfully challenging. You’ll feel supported—but also encouraged to look at patterns, beliefs, and experiences in new ways. I integrate approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, and attachment-based therapy to help you better understand yourself while building tools for change. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to get curious about what’s been holding you back—and intentional about what you want to carry forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We’ll start by exploring what’s bringing you in and identifying patterns that may be keeping you stuck. A big part of the work is understanding the “story” behind your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—where it comes from and how it’s impacting your life. From there, we work on shifting those patterns in practical ways, whether that’s through new perspectives, emotional processing, or building healthier relationship dynamics. Therapy is collaborative and evolves over time, with a focus on creating lasting, meaningful change.
