Psychotherapist

Are you tired of the typical run-of-the-mill recovery program? Do you want an alternative to AA/NA-directed recovery, or are you looking to supplement your AA/NA recovery program? Would you like a therapist who will provide you with feedback? If yes, then I am the therapist for you. I am the most open-minded therapist you will meet. I know how much strength and courage it takes to reach out for help because I myself was once like you. I know how it feels to reveal your vulnerabilities to a stranger, and I am living proof that therapy works. I have been a practicing therapist since 2004. I have 21 years of experience with specialties in addiction and co-occurring disorders. My approach I take a very direct approach with clients and will focus on what strengths we can build on. I am a therapist who will give feedback and make suggestions. I work from a cognitive behavioral approach where I believe the way you think impacts how you feel, which impacts your choices and behaviors. I focus on breaking old, negative thought patterns as a way to change how I feel. My focus My focus has been on addiction and dual diagnosis recovery throughout my career. I am in recovery and know what it feels like to go through the therapy process. I can support your needs by providing feedback and processing through trauma that has impacted how you think/feel. My communication style I am a very open, non-judgmental, and direct therapist. I do provide feedback and suggestions. My goal is to get in the trenches with you and assist you in finding your way out. I also tend to use humor as a way to help clients gain insight into themselves. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist after spending a lot of my 20s in heroin addiction and going to rehabs. I knew there had to be other ways to help people with addiction and mental health besides AA/NA, labels, and heavy medications. Everyone is recovering from something, and everyone has their unique path in treatment.
