Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I'm Shannon Neville, LCSW. If you're here, something in your life probably feels harder than it should — a relationship that keeps hitting the same wall, a pattern you can't seem to break, or a disconnect from yourself that's hard to name but impossible to ignore. You don't have to figure it out alone. I'm a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience helping people build healthier relationships — with themselves, with the people they love, and with the world around them. I've worked across a wide range of ages and settings, and I bring specialized training in trauma-informed care to every session, which means we move at a pace that respects your nervous system, not just your goals. My work is grounded in the belief that healing isn't about fixing what's "wrong" with you — it's about reconnecting with parts of yourself that got lost along the way, and learning new ways of relating that actually hold up under pressure. If you're ready to take the first step toward the person you're becoming, let's talk. Reach out to schedule a free consultation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Compassion and a genuine commitment to your progress guide everything I do. I don't believe healing happens through judgment or pressure — it happens through being met where you are, with honesty and care. At the same time, I won't just sit with you in what's comfortable. My approach holds two things in balance: helping you work toward real, meaningful change in the patterns or behaviors that are holding you back, while also helping you build self-acceptance along the way. Growth and self-compassion aren't opposites — in my experience, they fuel each other. You don't have to choose between accepting yourself and wanting things to be different. Wherever you're starting from, my hope is that you leave our work together feeling more whole, more grounded, and more like yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Together, we'll work through trauma processing, build practical coping strategies, and develop techniques tailored to the areas where you're looking to grow. From the start, this is a collaborative process. Rather than me dictating the direction, we'll co-create goals that reflect what actually matters to you, and those goals will guide the course of our work. Progress isn't always linear, so we'll stay attentive to it along the way — celebrating the wins, even the small ones, and revisiting or adjusting goals as your life shifts and changes. Therapy should flex with you, not the other way around.
