What should a new client know about working with you?

The first visit is where I gather information and work with you in identifying goals and expectations for therapy. If you are seeking counseling for a child or teen, we will meet first without the child present. I seek to provide a warm, caring environment where clients and caregivers feel supported. I am very down to earth and work to make clients feel comfortable.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

If you are curious what a session looks like, that varies according to age. For children 3-10, I utilize play therapy. For older kids and teens I use activities and expressive arts that help build rapport and facilitate communication. Adults are most comfortable with talk therapy approaches. We can choose to meet weekly or every other week to start. Sessions typically last 50 minutes.
