“I’ve been seeing Shannon for about 5 months now, and I’m so glad I found her. She’s been so helpful, patient, and kind, and is very easy to talk to - my sessions feel like talking with a friend and have since the beginning. She’s great at reframing the way I think about or see things, and allowing me to grow through discovery of myself with guidance along the way, and with questions that allow me to see things from another perspective. I always thought therapy would feel very hard and be the low point of my week, so I dreaded getting started, and while it can feel hard at times I truly look forward to my sessions with Shannon and feel refreshed afterward. It’s been like a weight being lifted, and I have Shannon to thank for that. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who wants to feel safe, comfortable, and heard. ”

Getting to know Shannon Shaw

Welcome to my page! My name is Shannon Shaw. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University. I specialize in Betrayal Trauma and Narcissistic Abuse, and I also work with those dealing with depression, anxiety, and other life stressors. The discovery of betrayal can feel as if the rug has been pulled out from under you. It can feel as though you have lost your sense of safety, security, and stability. I am so sorry that you have to be here but also so grateful that you have the courage to show up for yourself. It may not feel like it yet, but hope and healing are possible. One of my favorite quotes is “Recovery is a return, healing is a rebirth.” I am here to help you on your healing journey and the rebirth of a more empowered life. I will tailor an approach to your unique needs as we work together to harness your inner strengths, resilience, and vulnerability. I specialize in trauma, infidelity, anxiety, and depression in adults struggling with betrayal trauma in their primary relationships.

Shannon is by far the best therapist I have had. She has the perfect balance between being highly knowledgeable and down to earth. She is extremely empathetic and makes me feel comfortable each session. She even knows how to make me laugh when needed. I can't say enough good things about Shannon and am so blessed to have found her!
Shannon is incredibly accommodating, understanding and has a wealth of knowledge. She is approachable and very easy to talk to, making you feel comfortable straight away.
From the very first session, I could tell that Shannon was dedicated to helping me navigate through my challenges with compassion and expertise. Her ability to create a safe and non-judgmental environment allowed me to open up and explore my thoughts and emotions freely. She actively listens and shows genuine empathy, making me feel understood and valued throughout our sessions. Her guidance and encouragement empowers me to tackle my issues head-on and work towards personal growth and healing. I most definitely recommend her to anyone seeking a therapist who goes above and beyond to make a difference.
Shannon is so wonderful, she makes you feel so comfortable and is easy to talk to. I hadn't gone to therapy in a while but she made it so easy to jump back in!
I don’t even know where to begin when describing Shannon; no words could honestly do her justice. She’s incredibly kind, genuine, and compassionate - I could really go on forever. As the other reviews state, it really does feel like you’re talking to an old friend. She’s helped me tremendously in the last year and a half, and I can’t wait to see the progress made in the future. I am so grateful for her and our weekly sessions.

Shannon is the best! She is incredibly flexible with appointment times and is communicative. I’ve been seeing her for years and would absolutely recommend her.
Shannon is an amazing therapist! I feel as though I’m talking to a friend and a therapist at the same time. Shannon is the perfect balance of supporting you and challenging you at the same time! I always look forward to my sessions with her!
Shannon is awesome. She has been my therapist for several months now and I genuinely look forward to my sessions with her -- it's as if I'm talking to a friend and a therapist at the same time. If you're seeking a therapist and reading this review right now, don't look any further! She's wonderful.
Shannon is great. She's everything you could want in a therapist in my opinion. You need a friend that day? Shannon's got you. You need someone to challenge you another day? Shannon's got you. Someone to listen? I think you get the idea lol. She's genuinely a good person. I have chronic pain. And I can tell throughout my sessions with her she is learning with me. She doesn't have chronic pain. But she wants to understand how I feel. I used to feel really alone in my pain. But she was the first person who did not just tell me, "get over it". She has truly taken the time to try to understand my condition, my mental state throughout this process, and my ups and downs. It's made me feel less lonely and less isolated as a result. I owe her a lot.
Shannon is a wonderful clinician! She is extremely warm and supportive in every session. She brings her clinical expertise to every session while still maintaining a warm and accepting demeanor. I highly recommend working with Shannon!
Shannon is SUCH a pleasure to work with. She's the highlight of my week! She has patiently taught me skills I need to reframe my thinking and through her insight and guidance I've been able to process the toughest times in my life thus far. She's such a light and support when needed most, and is consistently reliable and trustworthy. I wouldn't be where I am in my healing journey without her help, and for that I am eternally grateful to her. She's the best.
A+++ rating. I was very hesitant in the beginning about therapy but Shannon made me feel super comfortable right away. She is very easy to talk to, she has changed my life for the better.
I’ve been seeing Shannon for years now. She is so passionate about her job to help others. She listens very well and has helped me through many issues. Over the years, emotionally I’ve improved dramatically thanks to her wonderful help. She is also flexible and will work with you. I am so thankful for the help she has given me and guided me through these past few years.
She’s great ! I really enjoy my sessions I look forward to them ! She really helps me a lot with identifying myself and just being all around positive and kind to myself ! 10/10
