Getting to know Shannon Smith

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Rochester, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Wellesley College. I work with individuals and couples around relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, and chronic illness. In the work we do together, I take an integrative approach, adapting strategies to meet clients' specific strengths, needs, and goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My hope is that therapy allows clients to connect with their goals, and provides a space to open up about difficult topics. At its heart, therapy can be a vulnerable experience. I strive to provide a warm, open-minded, and genuine presence that will help clients feel at ease.
