ME
My name is Shannon Trainor, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master's in Social Work from Boston College. I have over 20 years of experience working with substance use and addiction, trauma, anxiety and depression, relationship issues, and eating disorders. My approach I utilize CBT, solution-focused therapy, and DBT skills in my practice and have worked extensively with adults, adolescents, families, and women. My focus Throughout my career, I have worked with adults, adolescents, and families. I see clients who struggle with substance use and/or addiction, current or past traumas, anxiety and depression, eating disorders, as well as family systems work related to substance use disorders. My communication style I meet every client where they are when we first begin and help them identify their goals for treatment. I support clients in achieving those goals throughout our sessions. I offer a safe space, which also means holding clients accountable and challenging them as needed to help them succeed. My goals for you I discuss with clients what they want to get out of therapy and work with them to develop realistic, attainable goals with clear interventions and timeframes. We then continue to address and update these goals in each session, tracking progress as needed. My first session with you The first session is to begin establishing a relationship and to discuss what brought you to seek therapy in the first place.
