Getting to know Dr. Shari Bloomberg
I have a Doctorate in Social Work from New York University and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland. I also hold a Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York, Binghamton. I have been a practicing therapist for over 30 years. My specialties include trauma-informed work, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other modalities. I am a skilled play therapist, parent educator, and certified adoption worker. I focus on working with individuals and couples and have expertise in women's issues, especially violence against women, PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I understand the courage it takes to make that first call, especially when you're feeling stuck, hopeless, and helpless. Let's have a conversation about how we can work together to create the future you deserve.
Please note that at this time, the practice only accepts Aetna and Cigna, upon verification. For all other insurances, we are happy to provide a bill for you to submit for insurance reimbursement, as allowed by your insurance company.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I have a strengths-based approach to practice based on the belief that everybody has the power, with assistance, to create the life and destiny they seek. Although I prefer seeing clients in person, I also use an online platform and a mix of both for some clients.
Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $225 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $200 for 60 minutes
- Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay

Payment is expected at the time of service and can be made in cash, check, credit card, Venmo, or Zelle.
Insurance claims are run through a separate portal, which will be provided to you once you become a client of the practice.
