Hello, I'm Sharon Gilmore, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an MSW. I've been married for 23 years, and we have a wonderful blended family: my son, his daughter, and our son. Now that they're all grown up, two of them have blessed us with grandchildren, bringing even more joy into our lives. With 21 years in the field of social work, I can honestly say this career is my calling. My journey has taken me through child protective services, hospice social work, mobile crisis services, private practice, and travel social work. These diverse experiences have allowed me to work with individuals of all ages and through many stages of life. Blended families and high-conflict custody cases are particularly close to my heart, especially advocating for fathers to have meaningful relationships with their children. I believe that children are our future, and it's our responsibility to help them find their way. When working with children, adolescents, and teenagers, I incorporate parents and siblings as needed to ensure a successful therapeutic experience. I also enjoy working with adults, both individually and as couples. My experience spans a multitude of issues, including trauma, addiction (to drugs, alcohol, and pornography), domestic violence, anxiety, depression, social skills, interpersonal relationships, marital problems, infidelity, bullying, academic problems, workplace issues, family-related problems, and stage-of-life issues. I don't adhere to a single therapeutic intervention. As we get to know each other, we'll discuss which therapeutic approach might be best for you. You are the most important part of any therapeutic relationship, and I believe you are the expert on your own experiences. My role as your therapist is to help you learn how to take those experiences forward, recognizing that each one is a part of who you are, and to help you learn how to live your best life. If you're ready to start this journey together, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
