What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself. My goal is to create a space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment, whether you’re discussing something you’ve never shared before or trying to make sense of a challenge you’re currently facing. Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, and easy to talk to. While I provide support and validation, I also believe in helping clients identify patterns, gain insight, and take meaningful steps toward change. Therapy is not about being told what to do—it’s about working together to better understand what is keeping you stuck and discovering solutions that align with your values and goals. I strive to balance empathy with honesty. Sometimes sessions focus on processing emotions and difficult experiences, while other times they are more practical and solution-oriented. My approach is collaborative, meaning we will regularly check in on your goals and tailor our work to what feels most helpful and relevant to you. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if this is your first experience with counseling. I aim to make the process as comfortable as possible by meeting you where you are and moving at a pace that feels right for you. Above all, I want my clients to feel heard, understood, and supported. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, personal growth, or healthier relationships, I am committed to helping you build the insight, confidence, and tools needed to move forward in a way that feels authentic and sustainable. I look forward to being part of your journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My goal is to provide a thoughtful and personalized therapy experience that is tailored to your unique needs and goals. During our initial session, I will complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to gain a deeper understanding of your current concerns, personal history, relationships, medical background, family dynamics, strengths, and the factors that may be impacting your emotional well-being. Together, we will identify your goals for therapy and develop a treatment plan designed to help you make meaningful progress. Treatment plans are individualized and serve as a roadmap for our work together, while remaining flexible enough to adapt as your needs evolve over time. Throughout the therapeutic process, we will regularly review your progress, discuss any challenges that arise, and adjust treatment goals when appropriate. Depending on your concerns, sessions may focus on developing coping skills, improving relationships, processing difficult experiences, managing symptoms, increasing self-awareness, or building healthier patterns of thinking and behavior. I believe in a collaborative and holistic approach to mental health care. In some cases, therapy may be most effective when combined with additional support services. If clinically appropriate, I may recommend referrals for psychiatric medication management, psychological testing, neuropsychological evaluations, or other specialized services to ensure you receive the most comprehensive care possible. My role is to help guide, support, and empower you throughout the process while creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where growth, healing, and lasting change can occur. Together, we will work toward helping you achieve your goals and improve your overall quality of life.
