Psychotherapist
3754 Lavista Rd., 200, Tucker, GA
Prior to our appointment, I prefer to have a 10-15 minute consult beforehand. The path to becoming a licensed professional counselor was neither direct nor easy. From a young age, I realized I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. I earned my undergraduate degree in Mental Health and Human Services from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Continuing to feed my passion for counseling, I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. Life can be challenging sometimes, and it’s important to have someone who can navigate it with you. I understand living in a state of chaos and the overwhelming anxiety that can accompany it. Hence, I recognize the need for counseling. My life has been filled with many twists, turns, and delays. I attribute some of this to my self-diagnosis of ADHD. One constant for me has been my faith. I attended church from a young age, and my faith has anchored me throughout. While earning my master’s degree, I had the opportunity to provide services to individuals, couples, and pre-marital couples. I also gained experience working with the eating disorder population and in an inpatient hospital setting. These experiences have all been part of my journey to prepare for private practice. I believe my clients are the professionals of their own lives, and that the path to healing begins with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The most critical part of therapy is trust in the relationship. Therefore, I aim to increase rapport with my clients early in therapy. For clients who have never been to therapy, sitting with someone you don't know can be scary. I include practices that I hope helps my clients to feel comfortable. You can expect an atmosphere of acceptance.
