Psychotherapist
MI
Over the years, I have worked with adults who are carrying more than people around them may realize. Some are managing anxiety while still showing up for work and family. Others are dealing with depression, low confidence, grief, relationship stress, people-pleasing, difficult boundaries, or major life changes that have left them feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. Many come to therapy because they are tired of overthinking, second-guessing themselves, holding everything in, or repeating patterns they no longer want to carry. I am a psychotherapist with over 13 years of clinical experience. My approach to care is warm, collaborative, practical, and honest. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel supported and where meaningful change can happen. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, help you identify patterns, and be upfront with you when I notice something that may be keeping you stuck. My clinical approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, person-centered care, and strengths-based strategies. I believe therapy should extend beyond the session. My goal is to help you leave with greater understanding, practical tools, and ways to apply what we discuss to your relationships, decisions, emotions, and daily experiences. For clients who want faith to be part of therapy, I also offer Christian counseling and can thoughtfully incorporate prayer, Scripture, and biblical principles into our work. Faith integration is always guided by your preferences and comfort level. Ultimately, my goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more confident in how you handle life’s challenges, and move forward with greater clarity, emotional strength, and intention.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, down-to-earth, supportive, and practical. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, ask questions, slow things down, and talk openly about what is really going on without feeling judged or pressured. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Many clients come to therapy knowing they feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, disconnected, or simply tired of carrying things the same way, but they are not always sure what they need. Part of my role is to help you make sense of what you are experiencing, identify patterns, and begin putting words to what may feel unclear. I will meet you where you are, but I will also be honest and upfront with you. I believe meaningful therapy includes compassion, encouragement, and respectful honesty. I may gently point out patterns, inconsistencies, or choices that could be keeping you stuck, while also helping you understand where those patterns came from and what healthier alternatives may look like. Our work may include reflection, practical coping tools, CBT strategies, DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, boundary-setting, communication skills, and ways to build greater confidence and emotional awareness. Therapy is a collaborative process. I will listen, ask thoughtful questions, offer perspective, and support you as you work toward changes that feel meaningful and realistic for your life. Your goals, comfort, feedback, and pace will help guide our work together. If faith is important to you, Christian beliefs, prayer, and Scripture can also be thoughtfully incorporated into therapy to support your healing, growth, and everyday life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. You do not need to arrive with everything figured out or know exactly what you want to work on. If you are feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or simply know that something needs to change, we can begin there together. During the first few sessions, we will talk about what has been happening in your life, what feels most difficult right now, your strengths, relationships, coping patterns, and what you would like to feel different over time. From there, we will work together to identify goals that feel realistic, meaningful, and personal to you. Ongoing sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs. We may spend time processing current stressors, exploring patterns, challenging unhelpful thoughts, practicing coping skills, strengthening boundaries, improving communication, or building confidence. I often incorporate CBT, DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based approaches. For clients who would like faith included in therapy, we can thoughtfully incorporate prayer, Scripture, and biblical principles into the work to support your everyday coping, decision-making, emotional wellness, and personal growth. My goal is for therapy to feel like a supportive space where you can be honest, gain clarity, learn practical tools, and move forward at a pace that feels manageable for you.

More information on payments and coverage

I accept several insurance plans, which are listed on my Zocdoc profile. Because benefits can vary by plan, I encourage clients to review their individual mental health coverage, including any copay, coinsurance, deductible, or other out-of-pocket costs that may apply. Insurance eligibility does not always guarantee payment for services, so your final financial responsibility will depend on your plan's specific benefits. Self-pay is also available for clients who prefer not to use insurance or whose insurance plan is not accepted. Current self-pay rates are listed on my profile. My goal is to make the financial side of starting therapy as clear and straightforward as possible. If you have questions about payment or insurance before your first appointment, please feel free to reach out so we can help clarify what information may be needed.
