There are seasons of life when it feels like everything is changing at once. Maybe you’re starting college, entering adulthood, navigating a new relationship, adjusting to a new role, or simply trying to figure out who you are and what you want your life to look like. From the outside, these changes may seem exciting, but internally, they can bring anxiety, uncertainty, self-doubt, and pressure to have everything figured out. I work with teens and young adults navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem, identity, and the challenges that can come with growing into a new version of yourself. You may find yourself overthinking decisions, comparing your progress to others, worrying about your future, struggling to balance responsibilities, or feeling unsure about what comes next. My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, collaborative, and encouraging. I believe therapy should be a space where you can slow down, talk openly about what you’re experiencing, and begin making sense of the thoughts and emotions that may feel overwhelming. Together, we’ll explore the patterns contributing to your concerns while developing practical tools that can help you navigate them differently. Our work may include learning to manage anxiety and stress, strengthening coping skills, building confidence, improving communication, creating healthier boundaries, navigating relationships, and developing a stronger sense of self. We’ll also make space to explore the experiences and beliefs that may influence how you see yourself and the decisions you make. You don’t have to know exactly who you’re becoming or have your entire future planned. My goal is to help you feel more grounded in who you are, confident in the choices you make, and equipped to navigate change with greater clarity and self-trust.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. In fact, therapy can be especially helpful during the seasons when you have more questions than answers. Maybe you know you’re overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, or unhappy with something in your life, but you’re having difficulty putting it into words. We can start there and work through it together. My therapy style is warm, conversational, supportive, and collaborative. I want our sessions to feel like a space where you can show up as yourself without feeling like you have to say the “right” thing or have the perfect response. You can talk openly about school, work, relationships, family, friendships, your future, or the parts of yourself you’re still learning to understand. Therapy with me is also intentional. Along with having space to process what’s happening, we’ll work together to understand the thoughts, emotions, and patterns contributing to how you feel. I may ask questions that encourage deeper reflection, help you identify connections you haven’t noticed before, and introduce practical strategies you can use outside of our sessions. Some sessions may focus on managing anxiety or stress, while others may involve relationships, boundaries, self-esteem, decision-making, communication, or adjusting to change. Therapy will be tailored to what you need rather than following the same formula every week. I believe growth often happens through small, meaningful changes. Progress may look like making a decision without overthinking it for hours, setting a boundary, managing a stressful situation differently, communicating your needs, or simply feeling more confident in yourself. My goal is for you to feel supported while also gaining the insight and skills you need to navigate life independently. You don’t have to have all the answers right now. Together, we can help you become more confident in finding your own.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with getting to know you and understanding life from your perspective. During our initial sessions, we’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been difficult, important experiences and relationships, how you cope with stress, and what you would like to change. Together, we’ll create goals that feel realistic, meaningful, and connected to the person you want to become. As we continue, we’ll identify patterns connected to your concerns. If you’re experiencing anxiety, we may explore triggers, overthinking, fears about the future, physical symptoms, or behaviors that keep the anxiety cycle going. If you’re navigating a life transition, we may explore uncertainty, changing relationships, expectations, identity, or pressure to know what comes next. From there, we’ll develop strategies that help you navigate those experiences differently. Depending on your needs, this may include coping and emotional regulation skills, challenging unhelpful thoughts, strengthening communication, establishing boundaries, improving self-esteem, managing stress, or developing healthier ways to approach difficult decisions. Therapy will include both reflection and practical application. We may explore how past experiences influence how you respond today while identifying changes you can begin making now. The goal is to help you understand yourself while building skills you can use outside of therapy. We’ll regularly revisit your goals and talk about what’s improving, what still feels challenging, and where we need to adjust. Progress isn’t about having everything figured out; it’s about becoming more aware of yourself and increasingly confident in how you respond to life. Ultimately, my goal is for you to leave therapy feeling more grounded in who you are, confident making decisions, and equipped to navigate future challenges and transitions with greater self-trust.
