Sheldon Morris LCSW, Psychotherapy Services Are you striving to lead a happier and more fulfilling life? Are you seeking help in overcoming your challenges? My mission is to empower clients with the tools to help them thrive, no matter what struggles life brings their way. I focus on nurturing your inherent strengths, empowering you to take charge of your thoughts and behaviors, and helping you overcome challenges to move forward. Specializing in treating Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Anger, Loss, Life transitions, Couples therapy, and more, together we will embark on a journey toward improved well-being, greater resilience, and a stronger sense of self. Life can be challenging, but you don't have to navigate it alone! My commitment is to listen, understand, and support you every step of the way. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, which informs my compassionate and evidence-based approach to psychotherapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Sheldon's clinical training consisted of diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex cases as a Psychotherapist in Mental Health Clinics in both New York and New Jersey before shifting to start his own practice . He is regularly involved in treating cases ranging from couples therapy to extensive work with at risk behaviors, substance use, and suicidality. Sheldon's work experience also includes his role as Guidance Counselor in a Private High School in New Jersey. He has received extensive training in the treatment of Anxiety and OCD, and has been trained by the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy in treating depression and anxiety. Sheldon is blessed to be happily married for close to 20 years and is a proud father of 6 children. His hobbies and interests include running, barbequing, enjoying the outdoors, connecting to his religious values, and spending time with his family. He is passionate about what he does, and feels grateful to have the opportunity to be in a profession of helping others.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities, including CBT, DBT, ACT, & Mindfulness, clients will learn the skill of cognitive reframing, empowering them to shift perspectives and to take control of their thoughts. Great emphasis is placed as well on behavior activation and developing the ability to move forward and live a rich and fulfilling life, despite the struggles they may face. Children or adults facing attentional issues will learn techniques how to increase their productivity in the workplace, in school, and at home. Children and adolescents will learn techniques to help improve their anger management, raise their level of frustration tolerance, and enhance their ability to regulate their emotions. Parents will learn strategies to repair and restore their relationship with their children, and get the support they need to successfully guide their children through their adolescent years. Couples will learn practical strategies for improving their marriage and creating stronger and more secure relationships through employing techniques and principles from EFT and the Gottman method. Looking forward to partnering with you to help you achieve your unique potential.

I was very impressed with how Sheldon worked with my teenager. Instead of just talking (as he had done with other therapists), my kid is now doing! Sheldon somehow managed to help my son develop newfound drive and hope in himself, and for that reason we are forever grateful for his help. I would highly recommend him for any teenager going through normal teenage stuff
Excellent therapist! He was so responsive and so available - he usually responded to me within the hour! I found him to be very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. Highly recommend
Very appreciative of Sheldon and all that he has done for me! Sheldon helped me navigate some difficult challenges in my life. I look forward to m weekly meetings with him and always walk away better that I was feeling before
    Excellent practitioner! Highly recommend!
I was really impressed with the care and skill that Sheldon provided during our sessions. I felt like he was compassionately listening to me, took the time to really understand me and my issues, and worked with me to develop the skills to regulate my emotions in a healthier way. I could really tell that Sheldon was knowledgeable, professional and cared about me and my progress. If you are going through a difficult time and really need someone who will not only listen, but really help you get through it, I highly recommend seeing Sheldon.
Sheldon is a caring and attentive listener. He really supported me through some difficult struggles and helped me believe in myself.
I was looking for a therapist experienced with teenagers who would be able to connect with my teenage son, as he is quite guarded about who he "lets in". I was pleasantly surprised to see how relatively quickly my son built rapport with Sheldon and am grateful to have found a professional to help my son and whom my son enjoys working with. I would highly recommend Sheldon, and I find that he is very good at working with teenagers.
A skilled professional who is knowledgeable, insightful, empathetic and empowering. He give his clients the tools and support they need to progress in their journey and achieve results. I am so grateful to have been in his care!
