My name is Shelley Cook, I am an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) with a master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have been working in the social service field over 30 years with 9 years in the mental health field. I am currently a therapist and a Certified Child & Adolescent Grief Counseling Specialist (CGCS-CA). I enjoy helping others to set goals and celebrate accomplishments along the way. In my free time I enjoy traveling, going to plays, reading, and listening to music. Life can be challenging at times and you may feel that you are all alone. These challenges can lead to anxiety, depression and often some will turn to self-medicating through substance use. If you are ready to make changes in your life, I am here to meet you where you are and help you find a personalized solution that is best for you. I provide different therapy approaches along with thinking outside the box to explore the right solutions to help with making positive changes. The things that we endure along the way in life may help shape us but it does not define who we are. Take that first step towards your healing journey by allowing me to work beside you and help you to identify your strengths that will allow you to work through whatever challenges you are currently facing. I work with couples and individuals from the ages of 10 years to adults. Conditions I address: ADHD Anxiety/stress Depression Divorce PTSD /trauma Relationship issues Grief Bipolar OCD Anger Management Family conflict Parent-child issues Addiction /recovery Types of therapy: Motivational Interviewing (MI) Person Centered Approach Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Solution Focus Brief Approach Psychoeducation Play Therapy Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT)
