Shelly Tiemeyer, LICSW

Psychotherapist
WA
Hi there, I'm Shelly! As women, anxiety, depression, and trauma can at times interfere with our connection to ourselves and our connection to others. The good news is that we can increase our self-awareness and welcome the parts of us that long to be included. When we feel more connected to ourselves, we have the ability to connect more with the world around us. My approach I use a gentle approach to access parts of self that want to be integrated into the whole. I offer compassionate listening, Lifespan Integration, and Brainspotting as tools for dealing with past traumas. My focus We can grow in our inner wisdom and the ability to process information in a loving, generous way. We can have more fluid, flexible thinking, more self-acceptance, and the ability to live with the uncertainties of life. When we open, the whole world opens, too. My communication style My communication style is welcoming and compassionate. We are all human, and we all fall, including me. I come to our meetings with curiosity and a desire for connection, which is the greatest healer of all. My journey to mental healthcare I have always enjoyed helping people see their own goodness and beauty. For eleven years, I was a social worker in Kansas, working with people with epilepsy and people with severe mental illness. In 2002, I came to Seattle and received my Master's in Counseling and Certificate in Spiritual Direction from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. My first session with you The first meeting is for us to get to know each other and answer any questions you might have. It's also a time to discuss any goals you have for therapy.
