CA
I am Shelly Welsh, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral Approach while incorporating person-centered and solution-focused techniques. I have experience working with individuals and couples of all abilities who want to address life difficulties such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, infidelity, vocational stressors, poor coping strategies, and life transitions. My approach centers on blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with person-centered and solution-focused methods to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs. I have worked with a diverse range of clients, including individuals and couples, helping them navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, infidelity, work-related stress, ineffective coping, and major life changes. I strive to create a warm, accepting, empathetic, and personable space where clients feel safe and cared for. Life can be difficult, and we all need support. I love helping others grow and discovering that they can overcome the difficulties life throws at them. I look forward to working with clients and guiding them toward insight, understanding, and healing. I listen carefully to each client's goals and current life situation to develop attainable objectives that promote healing and growth. In the first session, clients can expect to share the main reason that brought them to therapy. This session is a space for clients to express their struggles and hopes at their own pace. Taking that first step takes courage, and I honor that by moving forward in a way that feels comfortable for each individual.
