Getting to know Shenetra Alexander

I have been practicing for 15 years now. I have a bachelors from the University of Alabama in human development and family studies and a minor in psychology. I also have a masters in counseling and psychology from the University of West Alabama. I am a licensed professional counselor supervisor and a national certified counselor. I specialize in substance abuse, domestic violence, anger management, family counseling and couples counseling. My personality influences my approach to therapy as I enjoy meeting new people while establishing great relationships. The therapeutic approach to counseling that I most often use is CBT, family systems model, motivational interviewing and person centered. I decided to become a mental health professional due to having a passion to help others overcome challenges that they presently face.
