In today’s society we are bombarded with many different factors that influence our thinking. These factors can sometimes lead us to experience symptoms of depression and anxiety. With cognitive behavioral therapy I can help you develop coping skills to help manage some of those thoughts. Together we can find a better way to navigate the emotional swings that often cause discomfort and sometimes affect our most meaningful relationships. Intimate relationships can be difficult to manage and while you cannot change other people you can change yourself. Understand your approach and challenging it can help you stop the destructive thought patterns. Forgiveness, gratitude and self-acceptance support a healthy mental life. More effective and strategic problem solving, anxiety-reduction can help with the lifting of depression and anxiety. Physical activity, healthy diet, good, sound sleep, and a healthy support system of friends and family produce a lifestyle that will enable you to live your best life to the fullest. I can help you get there. I obtained my Bachelors degree in psychology from The University of Maryland and my Masters degree in social work. I've worked with clients from many walks of life and with varied needs. My areas of experience include anxiety, depression, and grief. I use a Cognitive Behavioral and Humanistic approach to help my clients bring out the best in themselves. I like to use humor, challenging questions, and a direct approach because I think in counseling we should get to the point, and we should have fun doing it. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and for that I appreciate you.
