Hi there, I'm Sheri! My name is Sheri Durricks. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in mental health, alcohol, and other substance use disorders. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from Lincoln University. My counseling style is warm and engaging. I have a non-judgmental approach and believe in demonstrating empathy to my clients. My therapeutic approach includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), client-centered therapy, mindfulness therapy, and trauma-focused therapy. I tailor therapy according to your unique needs. My journey to mental healthcare began as a Nurse Assistant. I have always enjoyed helping others, which inspired me to pursue human services and explore areas that best fit my skills. I believe it's important for clients to be involved in setting their goals, with the therapist supporting and assisting them throughout the process. During our first session, I will introduce myself and review important documents, including privacy policies, confidentiality limits, and how to contact me between sessions. I will also conduct an assessment to better understand your presenting concerns.
