She has a passion for trauma-informed care and specializes in treating individuals struggling with PTSD, childhood behavioral issues, and substance use. As a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) therapist, she helps clients process painful memories, reduce distressing symptoms, and rebuild their lives with resilience.
Sherry also has expertise in working with those facing midlife transitions, grief, and health-related stressors, providing a compassionate space for healing. Additionally, she is an adoption-competent therapist and a Graduate Fellow of the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), with a focus on transitional-aged youth. Her approach combines a variety of evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and family therapy, to meet the diverse needs of her clients. She works with individuals from various populations, including those who have experienced adoption or foster care, LGBTQ+ individuals, military members and veterans, and first responders. Her practice is also informed by her Christian Counseling background, offering spiritual guidance for those who seek it.
