Getting to know Sherry Westfall

I help men and women who are experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, OCD, social anxiety and panic disorder use their personal strengths to deal with life problems, remove obstacles, achieve their goals, and feel better. I offer Christian counseling for clients who would like to incorporate God and faith along with evidence-based techniques into their therapeutic journey. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Messiah University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate and effective care tailored to each individual’s needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Once you have decided to see a therapist, you still might be apprehensive about the process. We will create a relationship that will become the foundation for our work together. You will begin to figure out some goals, and I will figure out how to help you get there. I find Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to be affective for my clients. This type of therapy includes techniques that are solution-focused, motivational, strength-based, and mindful. This type of therapy is short-term and empowering for the client.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will work together to help you feel better. I do not have answers to all your concerns, but I do have the ability to listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions. Your answers to these questions will help shape the direction of our work. You can expect to be respected. You can expect that I will offer opinions and suggestions from time to time but at no point will I tell you what to do. My goal is to empower you.
