Shetara Oliver, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Each of us intrinsically knows what we need to heal and grow. My approach to psychotherapy is to couple your expertise of being you and your lived experiences with my skill set to collaboratively work towards achieving your goals through a culturally affirming and healing-centered stance. I hold a Master's in Psychology from Phillips Graduate University and bring over twenty years of experience as a professional social worker, domestic violence advocate, and sexual abuse clinician. My specialties include working with pre-teens, teenagers, young adults, adults, individuals, and People of Color. I treat individuals dealing with anxiety, trauma, anger management, adjustment issues, behavioral issues, grief and loss, separation issues, phases of life challenges, domestic violence, parenting issues, and sexual abuse. Therapy is a process of self-discovery and growth. During sessions, I utilize a strength-focused, client-centered approach. I also incorporate evidence-based therapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy, to name a few. These techniques allow for a creative approach and logical solutions that bring lasting change.
