Hi, I am Shujing (Becky) :) I believe we all go through times when life feels exhausting, confusing, or shaped too much by what others seem to value. You might appear to be living a “decent” life on the outside, yet deep down, you feel drained by a steady, routine lifestyle. You might find yourself simply completing tasks you think you “should” be doing, without truly understanding why. You might feel like many of the expectations placed on you don’t genuinely align with who you are, yet you continue to compromise and gradually lose track of your wants and needs. In our work together, I will support you in learning to trust, listen to, and make sense of your feelings and desires, and turn that self-awareness into meaningful changes. However, change doesn’t happen overnight, it often begins with small, powerful shifts—when you finally realize what you genuinely want, beyond other people’s expectations; when you take a deep breath and say, “I don’t want to do this”; when you start choosing being true for yourself over what feels safe or familiar. That’s when healing begins. And I’ll be here to walk alongside you on that journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our work together, my greatest hope is that you feel truly seen and heard. Typically, the first and second sessions will be intake sessions, where we’ll explore your current concerns, your goals for therapy, and relevant personal experiences to help us get to know each other and identify which goals we should focus on moving forward. From there, we’ll collaborate to find an approach that best supports your needs and helps you work toward those goals—whether that involves exploring recurring themes and patterns, learning new coping skills, developing deeper self-understanding, preparing for practical challenges like mock interviews, or other strategies tailored to your journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Traditionally, therapy is seen as a way to help someone recover from a difficult or painful state and return to feeling okay—that is, moving from “negative” to “zero”. I believe therapy can offer more than that by supporting those who are already at “zero” to continue to grow, that is, move from “zero” to “positive.” To me, mental health isn’t just about being free from pain or struggle; it’s also about growth, fulfillment, and reaching your full potential.
