Silke Gonzalez, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi, I’m Silke, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) providing virtual therapy to individuals throughout Texas. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can feel heard, understood, and supported without fear of judgment. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, past experiences, or simply feeling uncertain about the direction of your life, therapy can provide an opportunity to slow down, gain clarity, and begin making meaningful changes. My passion lies in helping individuals better understand themselves, navigate difficult emotions, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. Therapy should reflect your unique needs, strengths, and goals. I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, expressing your emotions, and working through the challenges that may be keeping you from moving forward. Throughout our work together, we'll explore patterns in your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships while identifying opportunities for personal growth and emotional healing. I believe that developing self-awareness is an important part of creating lasting change, and I enjoy helping clients recognize their strengths, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build confidence in their ability to navigate difficult situations. I understand that reaching out for support isn't always easy, especially when you're accustomed to managing everything on your own. My goal is to meet you where you are, offer encouragement throughout the process, and help you develop the tools needed to create a healthier and more fulfilling life. You don't have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. Sometimes, taking that first step toward understanding yourself is where meaningful change begins.

What should a new client know about working with you?

One of the most important things I want you to know about working with me is that therapy is a space where you can show up exactly as you are. You don't have to have the right words, know where to begin, or feel pressured to share everything during our first session. I understand that opening up to someone new can feel uncomfortable, especially when discussing personal experiences, difficult emotions, or situations you may have kept to yourself for a long time. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping you feel comfortable throughout the process. I believe that building a trusting therapeutic relationship is an important part of meaningful progress. I want you to feel heard and understood while also having opportunities to reflect, challenge yourself, and explore new perspectives. When working together, I encourage open communication and value your feedback about what is or isn't helpful. Therapy isn't about me telling you how to live your life or making decisions for you. Instead, it's about helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, recognize patterns that may be contributing to your challenges, and feel more confident making decisions that align with your needs and values. There may be sessions where we explore difficult emotions or experiences, while other sessions focus on developing coping strategies, improving communication, strengthening boundaries, or celebrating progress you've made. I recognize that growth doesn't always happen in a straight line, and there may be moments when things feel challenging or uncertain. That's a natural part of the process. Ultimately, my goal is for you to feel supported, respected, and empowered throughout your therapeutic journey. I want therapy to be a space where you can gain insight, recognize your strengths, and begin creating changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your everyday life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. During our initial session, we’ll discuss your concerns, past experiences, and what you hope to gain from our time together. This is a chance to ask questions and begin feeling comfortable with therapy. There’s no expectation to share everything at once. During our first few sessions, we’ll explore your challenges and identify patterns in your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. We’ll also discuss your strengths, coping strategies, and areas where you’d like to grow. Together, we’ll establish meaningful goals that reflect what matters most to you. As therapy progresses, our sessions will be guided by your needs and goals. Depending on what you’re working through, we may focus on understanding emotional triggers, processing difficult experiences, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, improving communication, developing healthier boundaries, or strengthening your ability to manage stress and uncertainty. I believe therapy should provide more than an opportunity to talk about what’s happening in your life. It should also help you develop greater self-awareness and practical strategies that you can begin applying outside of our sessions. At times, I may encourage you to reflect on situations, practice new coping skills, or consider different ways of responding to challenges between appointments. Throughout our work together, we’ll revisit your goals, acknowledge the progress you’ve made, and make adjustments whenever necessary. Your needs may change, and our work can evolve with you. My hope is that as we continue working together, you’ll feel more confident in your ability to navigate life’s challenges, understand your emotions, and make decisions that support your well-being. Ultimately, I want you to leave therapy feeling more equipped, empowered, and connected to the person you’re working toward becoming.
