Getting to know Silvia Diaz

Since 2014, I've worked in various therapeutic settings, working with at-risk youth, providing integrated behavioral health care, and working with parents using components of the Strengthening Families curriculum. I have taken many different leadership roles in my career from supervising other clinicians and interns to the director of a behavioral health department for Erie Neighborhood House.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe it is an honor to accompany clients in their journey towards growth. Whether you are facing ongoing obstacles, struggling to manage your mood, or going through a life transition such as prepping to welcome a child or starting a new relationship, I would love to work together with you to help foster in you the necessary skills to feel confident in your journey and tackle any barriers towards your overall wellness. As a second generation Latina, I know first hand the challenges that mixed-status immigrant families face. Being bilingual and bicultural gives me the privilege to connect and have deeper insight on our community's needs. When I accompany my clients, I am client-centered and use a trauma-informed, solution focused approach. When I decided to become a therapist, I envisioned having the privilege of walking with people on their journey to reach their goals. I want people to feel seen, respected, and heard. I look forward to supporting you in your journey, reaching your goals, and living a fulfilled life.
