A counseling relationship is often necessary to effectuate meaningful change--identifying and interrupting maladaptive patterns and building new ones. We’ll examine your history, resolve current challenges, and map a clear path to your goals. I specialize in brief, focused therapy that can result in relief from depression and anxiety, plus targeted treatment for accumulated trauma (combat, childhood physical/sexual abuse, emotional neglect, poverty, loss).

What should a new client know about working with you?
I employ the "fellow travelers' concept where we, on equal footing, think about some things together. I aim to show you how you make perfect sense (connect the dots from your story and offer a possible explanation for why you feel the way you feel), so you can be merciful to yourself and perhaps get unstuck and on your way to further accomplishments.
I try to keep things very simple. I work for you. We will collaborate. You are in charge. I will make suggestions and hold up a mirror to you so you can more fully trust your own judgement, however, you are the expert on you.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
