Getting to know Simone Weber

Hi there, I'm Simone! I’m Simone Weber, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) originally from Kailua, Hawaii, now based in Oakland, California, working with clients in person and via telehealth. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute, a Master of Education from Chaminade University of Honolulu, and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the University of California, Santa Cruz. I primarily work with adolescents, young adults, parents of adolescents, and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodivergence, and life stressors. I approach this work with a trauma-informed and social justice-oriented lens. My approach My therapy style is tailored to each individual or family. I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These modalities help clients make sense of their experiences and reconnect with themselves and loved ones. My focus My approach fits teens, young adults, parents, and families navigating life transitions, low self-esteem, identity exploration, and interpersonal difficulties. These challenges often present as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and distress. With a background in crisis work, I have experience supporting young people and families who may have had negative past experiences with or resistance to therapy. My communication style I communicate warmly, flexibly, patiently, and attuned, often using humor when appropriate. I hope clients feel I am walking alongside them as they navigate what brought them to therapy. In me, you have a thought partner—someone who seeks to understand how you approach your choices and the world, supporting and guiding you to be true to yourself. My journey to mental healthcare My decision to become a therapist stems from my nature as a sensitive, caring, and supportive person.
