“I was just extremely anxious about restarting therapy and finding the right fit, but Stacy's bio resonated so deeply with me and had to give it a try. She was right off the bat so easy to confide in and never made me feel like my problems were small. I am proud of myself for giving therapy another go and so grateful to have landed a provider like Stacy. She is professional, clear, and attentive. If you are thinking about starting/restarting therapy, definitely give Stacy a try! ”

Getting to know Siqi Zheng

You are stepping into the world of professionals and realizing that your early 20s or 30s are not for the faint of heart! So many changes are happening simultaneously, and life transitions can completely throw you off balance. Anxiety and depression creep in, and you may also be dealing with grief, attachment issues, and family struggles. You are willing to explore yourself with a sense of self-reflection and have your own observations or topics to dive into. However, you hesitate to find a therapist who just "prescribes" three deep breathing techniques and tells you everything will be okay. Well, I am not that kind of therapist. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ and POC community in New York, I strive to support and empower my clients through deep connection. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from New York University and have extensive clinical experience in Australia, China, and the U.S., providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed counseling using a person-centered approach. I believe all changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind is a part of ourselves. People often want change, but they also resist it. Being here and taking the first step to get the care you deserve is an incredible thing in itself. If this resonates with you, I encourage you to reach out and schedule a consultation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to hold a safe space for my clients with empathetic and compassionate support. French poet Jacques Rigaut said, “Don’t forget that I cannot see myself, that my role is limited to being the one who looks in the mirror.” I hope to become the mirror standing in front of you to make you feel seen and help you reflect. I typically do intakes in the first two sessions and make weekly appointments if we are a good fit. I rarely give advice or homework, as I believe you hold the strengths and have all the answers, my job is to help you see it.
