What should a new client know about working with you?

You may feel like you’ve tried everything to feel better—mood swings, stress, overeating, or feeling scattered—and it didn’t work. That is not a sign you’re not motivated. It just means you need a different, more personalized, kind of support. Seeing someone for help is a smart and brave step right now. To me, therapy is about taking the time to understand who you are, honoring your goals, and personalizing care to move at your pace. As a therapist, I use a blend of acceptance commitment, person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused therapy styles to work with you to find your inner strength and build on what’s already working in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During the 60-minute intake meeting, I will ask you more in-depth questions to learn more about your life experiences and to better understand what brings you to therapy at this time. Together, we will come up with treatment plan and schedule that is individualized to your needs and to feel confident that there is road map to meeting your life goals. Most of my clients like to be seen for follow-up therapy on a weekly, every 2-week, or on a monthly basis. Therapy meetings typically last between 45 to 55 minutes and I give you the opportunity to book 3 future sessions to see me within a month to keep the time that works best for you and works around your schedule. Most people begin to feel relief from distress and greater confidence to make importan life changes within 3 to 4 sessions.
