Sofia earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Anthropology with three minors-- Latine Studies, Human Development, and Criminology, Law & Society from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work on the Advanced Clinical Track with a specialization in trauma-informed care. Sofia has both personal and research experience supporting individuals across a wide range of ages and backgrounds, including foster youth, individuals in special education, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ communities, refugees, and other diverse populations. She remains passionate about social justice and advocacy—centering empowerment, authenticity, and collective healing in her practice. In her free time, Sofia enjoys traveling, connecting with loved ones, and engaging with research.
