Getting to know Dr. Sonja Sepkowitz

Our practice only provides therapy for non-acute (i.e. non-emergency) situations.* I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned her Doctorate (PsyD) from the Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University. While in school, I completed the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) concentration. I have also received specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for treating PTSD, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for treating OCD.

What should a new client know about working with you?

*We are not able to treat substance abuse or mental health crises, nor do we prescribe medication. Our practice only provides therapy for non-acute (i.e. non-emergency) situations.* I have worked with a variety of clients and different disorders. However, her passion resides in working with young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship issues, and big life transitions. I strive to help all of her clients with their relationship to their diagnoses and related symptoms so that they may lives more authentic lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I empower clients through building self-compassion, encouraging honesty, and creating a safe space where clients feel understood and ready to take on new challenges.
