My name is Sophia Cree, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Wisconsin. I find joy in being part of someone's journey and pride myself on developing strong relationships while creating a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic space for all individuals. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Viterbo University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support diverse clients effectively. My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and integrative, tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. As a therapist, I aim to support and guide clients toward happiness, wellness, connectedness, and compassion in their daily lives, acting as a catalyst for positive change. I also utilize therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Narrative therapy, Feminist theory, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based practices. I am passionate about working with teens, adults, and aging individuals facing various mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and life challenges. My specific interests include helping those affected by trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and other unexpected difficulties. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness and relaxation techniques, emotional regulation, boundary work, personal empowerment, and assisting individuals in finding meaning and purpose. In my communication style, I strive to balance being both human and professional. I am a direct, clear, and kind communicator. Through my person-centered approach, I empower clients to take the reins of their lives while providing education, guidance, compassion, and support. My journey to mental healthcare began with my interest in psychology and working with others. Having faced mental health challenges within my family, I found navigating those experiences easier with hope and determination. Therapy also became a way for me to find meaning and purpose in my career path.
