Hi, I'm Sophia, and I'm thrilled to be joining the team at Creative Counseling! I hold an MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of New Orleans. For the past four years, I've had the privilege of working as a school counselor, where I've gained invaluable experience in supporting students through their academic, emotional, and social challenges. This role has taught me the importance of patience and empathy, qualities that I believe are essential not only in school settings but in all aspects of life. I strive to bring a sense of calm and understanding to every session, offering a safe space where clients can feel heard and supported without judgment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Throughout my career, I’ve often been told that I’m easy to talk to and that my approach helps others feel comfortable opening up. I truly value this feedback, as creating an environment of trust is at the heart of my work as a counselor. I believe that growth takes time, and I’m committed to walking alongside my clients as they navigate their unique journeys at their own pace. Whether we’re working through complex emotions or learning new ways to cope with challenges, I’m here to support clients in whatever way they need.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

For me, the most rewarding part of counseling is seeing clients develop self-awareness and confidence over time. I find the counseling process especially fulfilling when clients are open and honest, even when it’s difficult. These moments of vulnerability allow for the deepest healing and growth, and it’s an honor to be part of that journey. I look forward to working with clients here at Creative Counseling and am excited to continue learning and growing in this new chapter of my career.
