Sophia Fleming, LCSW

Psychotherapist
MA
Sophia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the mental and behavioral health field since 2010. Based in Arizona, she specializes in helping overwhelmed professionals who appear to have it all together on the outside but struggle internally. She has deep compassion for those who take on the roles of caretaker, rescuer, fixer, and the ever-reliable "super" employee, parent, friend, or sibling. Sophia earned her Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix Campus and holds a Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. Many of her clients live with anxiety, self-doubt, chronic stress, unprocessed grief and childhood trauma, mild depression, perfectionism, codependency, as well as painful relationship struggles. She provides tools to cope with everyday stressors in a better way while also guiding them in exploring and healing the deeper root causes of their distress. Sophia helps clients reconnect with and honor their true selves and values. Each approach is tailored to the unique needs of the individual. Sophia takes a holistic approach, recognizing the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit. She understands how past experiences shape present challenges and integrates knowledge of the nervous system to help clients work with, rather than against, their natural responses. She prioritizes offering effective tools to foster real and lasting change. Building a strong, client-centered relationship is at the heart of Sophia's work. She brings her authentic, human self into each session, creating a warm and non-judgmental space for healing. As a seasoned therapist, she offers remote sessions with flexible, non-traditional hours, making it easier for busy professionals to invest in their well-being. Sophia is currently licensed to provide therapy to residents of Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’ve been there too. I know what it feels like to be stuck and overwhelmed. I know the weight of grief—soul-aching grief. I understand the pain of difficult relationships. And… I also know the profound relief that healing, clarity, and peace can bring. I now know what it means to feel truly valued in a relationship. As a successful professional, your work is important to you—I understand that. My work with you is just as important to me. It’s an honor and a privilege to be part of your healing journey. With me, you will never feel like just a number. I am as committed to your progress and success as you are. In our sessions, I show up as my whole, authentic self—so you can feel safe doing the same. I want to build a real connection with you, where you feel comfortable sharing your story and struggles. We’re both human. I just happen to be a human with years of experience—both personally and professionally—along with the training to help, teach, guide, and support you. I want you to experience the same transformation I have—because healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

1) Reach out and schedule a free 20 minute consultation. This will help us get to know one another a bit more and answer questions. If I am a good fit for you, we will schedule your first session. 2) We begin to dive a little deeper to find the areas that need the most attention and create a plan specific to fit your needs and goals. 3) Meeting weekly or bi-weekly, we continue to explore, learn, grow, and heal until you have found your happy again.
